For husband and wife team, Brian and Amanda Light, Ronin is the name for both their upcoming restaurant as well as their family farm.
The name "Ronin" comes from the Japanese meaning "samurai with no master." The Light's were inspired by Brian's experiences working for famous Iron Chef Morimoto at his namesake restaurant in Philadelphia and at other award-winning restaurants like Aries in Houston. Now, armed with an education in French and Japanese cuisine, the Light's have ventured out on their own - masterless.
Chef Brian's vision at Ronin is to preserve the traditions of Central Texas both gastronomically as well as culturally. Tradition is important here in the Brazos Valley and being caretakers of that experience is something the Light family takes very seriously. The culmination of this vision will be their new restaurant at The Icehouse on Main.
The Ronin Farm serves as a beautiful venue for catered dinners, weddings, and other events. All meats, poultry, and produce are sourced locally from Ronin Farm and those that surround it. The experience is truly Texas in every way.
